Rooibos, also known as red bush tea, is a national drink in South Africa. The red bush (Massai) is a perennial plant of the Legume family, with a height of about 1.5 meters, whose leaves and stems are cut into small pieces of about 1 centimeter. These pieces are laid out and sprinkled with water for half a day, until the tea begins to ferment and begin to color in the typical reddish-brown color.
Rooibos has a soft and fragrant aroma and unlike black tea does not contain caffeine (an ideal drink for children) and does not become bitter in taste if left to infuse for longer.

Rooibos is known as a health drink by locals. It does not contain tannin, but has a high content of vitamin C, and minerals such as copper, calcium, zinc, trace elements and flavonoids.
