Basil is a medicinal and aromatic plant because regardless of how it is used, it has a series of pharmacological effects, which is why it is used for diseases such as intestinal colic, bloating, vomiting, gastric ulcer, lack of appetite.

In general, the whole plant is used, and in gastronomy only the leaves are used, harvested throughout the vegetation. Basil can be used either fresh or as a powder obtained by grinding dried leaves.

Basil is used to flavor certain varieties of vinegar, mustard, canned cucumbers and purees, pasta, sauces, meat, soups or pastries.
