Description

Clearspring's organic yozu ponzu sauce is a traditional Japanese sauce rich in the fifth taste, the taste of savoriness or umami (umami), in which the spicy flavor of yuzu citrus juice is harmoniously combined with a naturally fermented soy sauce. It is the perfect condiment for dinner, you can add it over your favourite salads or use it to create dressings or sauces.
Ingredients:
      Soy sauce* (water, soybeans*, wheat*, sea salt, wheat alcohol [ethanol*]) - 39%, rice vinegar* [water, fermented rice*], rice syrup*, yuzu juice* - 13%, water, mirin* (sweet rice*, shochu* [water, fermented rice], fermented rice*), kombu seaweed extract (water, kombu seaweed, salt), sea salt. *certified organic ingredient.

Yuzu (Citrus ichangenis, C reticulata) is a shrub native to eastern Asia with grapefruit-like fruit 5.5 - 7.5 cm in diameter and yellow or green in colour. Its bitter-sour taste is reminiscent of grapefruit and tangerine, and it is widely used in Japanese cuisine similar to lemons in European cuisine, but yuzu is also used to make vinegar or marmalade, or as an ingredient in cakes, etc. The oil obtained from its peel is used as a perfume or the whole fruit is put in the bathtub, especially on winter arrival day in Japan. Ponzu is the name of a citrus-based sauce used in Japanese cuisine, of watery consistency, dark brown in color and spicy taste, sometimes also the sauce in which soy sauce is added, Ponzu Shoyu (Ponzu Joyu) is also simply called Ponzu.
