Description

Lentils have been used in food since prehistoric times - there are archeological sites in Switzerland that attest to this. Like all grains, lentils provide a large amount of protein and starch and are a good source of vitamin B. It also contains significant amounts of iron, zinc and calcium. How to consume:
Rinse the lentils with plenty of water. To boil, use three cups of water for each cup of lentils. Brown lentil varieties keep their shape best after preparation. It is used in dishes with many spices in the form of stews with vegetables and lentils, pies, or simply boiled seasoned with raw onions, especially green. You can also prepare a delicious lentil soup that boils quickly with vegetables (lots of onions, carrots, parsley, celery).
Lentil and wheat salad:
ingredients:
100g wheat, 100g lentils, bell peppers, an onion, 50g peas, 50g mushrooms, parsley, basil, oil and lemon juice or apple cider vinegar with honey.
Wheat and lentils are boiled separately until soft. Then mix with diced raw vegetables and sauce.
Lentil soup:
ingredients:
200g lentils, 1 potato, 1 carrot, an onion, garlic, salt, thyme, water.
The chopped vegetables are boiled together with the lentils and at the end the spices, garlic and salt are added.
